Breast Lift (Mastopexy) in Turkey

Restore a firmer, more youthful breast shape by removing stretched skin and lifting the tissue back into position — without necessarily changing your cup size.

Overview

A breast lift, or mastopexy, raises and reshapes breasts that have begun to sag, removing excess skin and repositioning the nipple to a higher, more natural place on the breast. In Turkey the same operation, performed by board-certified plastic surgeons in accredited hospitals, typically starts from around £3,000 — a fraction of UK or US prices — with a short stay of about 5 days. Importantly, a lift on its own changes shape rather than size; if you also want more fullness or less volume, it is usually combined with an implant or a reduction in the same operation.

A breast lift (mastopexy) is a surgical procedure that corrects sagging, known medically as ptosis, by tightening the breast envelope and lifting the underlying tissue. Over time, factors such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight changes, ageing and the natural loss of skin elasticity cause the breasts to descend, the nipple to point downward, and the upper part of the breast to lose fullness. A lift removes the stretched, excess skin, reshapes the remaining breast tissue and moves the nipple-areola complex to a higher, more youthful position. The areola, which often enlarges with sagging, can be reduced in size at the same time.

How it’s done

The surgeon assesses the degree of sagging and chooses an incision pattern to match it. Mild cases may need only a periareolar ("doughnut") incision around the areola; moderate sagging is usually treated with a vertical or "lollipop" pattern — around the areola and down to the crease; significant ptosis often requires an anchor (inverted-T) incision that also runs along the breast fold. Through these incisions the surgeon removes excess skin, lifts and re-drapes the breast tissue onto the chest wall, repositions and often reduces the nipple-areola complex, and closes the breast into a firmer, higher shape. The nipple usually stays attached to its blood supply and nerves, which helps preserve sensation.

  • Reshapes and lifts sagging breasts without necessarily changing cup size
  • Incision tailored to sagging: periareolar, vertical (lollipop) or anchor pattern
  • Can be combined with an implant or reduction in a single operation
  • Performed by board-certified plastic surgeons in accredited Turkish hospitals
  • Independent facilitator support and structured aftercare; you pay the clinic directly

Your journey, step by step

  1. 01

    Remote consultation and photo assessment

You share medical history and clear photographs so the surgeon can estimate the degree of ptosis, recommend the right incision pattern, and advise whether a lift alone is enough or whether an implant or reduction should be combined.

  2. 02

    Personalised plan and quotation

Unal coordinates a transparent written plan and all-inclusive quotation from a vetted accredited hospital. You review the technique, expected scars, stay and aftercare before committing — and you pay the clinic directly, never Unal.

  3. 03

Arrival, in-person exam and pre-op tests

On arrival you meet your surgeon for an in-person examination, markings and a final plan, followed by routine blood tests and anaesthetic clearance to confirm you are fit for surgery.

  4. 04

    Surgery under general anaesthetic

The mastopexy is performed under general anaesthetic and typically takes two to three hours. Most patients stay one night in hospital for monitoring before moving to the hotel.

  5. 05

    Recovery in Turkey and review

Over your roughly 5-day stay you wear a supportive surgical bra, attend a post-operative check, and are cleared to fly home with wound-care instructions and your aftercare plan.

  6. 06

    Structured follow-up from home

Unal stays your point of contact after you return, coordinating remote reviews with the surgical team and helping with any questions on scars, healing or your follow-up schedule.

Is it right for you?

Good candidates are healthy adults who are bothered by sagging breasts, downward-pointing or low-set nipples, or loss of upper-breast fullness, and who have realistic expectations and a stable weight. A lift suits women whose breasts are a comfortable size but have "emptied" or dropped after pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight loss or ageing. It is generally best to wait until you have finished having children and breastfeeding, as a future pregnancy can stretch the skin again and undo results. Smokers are asked to stop well before and after surgery because nicotine impairs wound healing and raises the risk of skin or nipple complications. A lift may not be the right choice if you mainly want more volume (an augmentation or implant may be needed), are planning significant weight loss, or have unmanaged health conditions; the surgeon will tell you honestly if another procedure or combination would serve you better.

Benefits

  • Firmer, lifted breasts with the nipple restored to a more natural, youthful height
  • Reduced sagging and improved upper-breast fullness and projection
  • Option to reduce enlarged or stretched areolae in the same operation
  • Can be combined with an implant (more volume) or a reduction (less volume) for a complete reshaping
  • Long-lasting improvement when weight stays stable and you avoid further pregnancies
  • Significant cost saving versus the UK, US or Gulf for equivalent accredited-hospital care

Recovery & aftercare

Expect to feel sore, tight and swollen for the first week, with discomfort well controlled by prescribed pain relief. Most people return to desk-based work and light daily activities within 1 to 2 weeks, though you should avoid lifting, stretching overhead and strenuous exercise for several weeks. A supportive surgical bra is worn continuously for about six weeks to protect the healing tissue and reduce swelling, and underwired bras are avoided until your surgeon approves them.

Results to expect

Most swelling settles over the first few weeks, but the breasts continue to soften and settle into their final shape over roughly three to six months. You will see a higher, firmer, better-proportioned breast almost immediately, while scars mature and fade over 12 to 18 months — they are permanent but usually settle into discreet lines that sit within the bra or bikini. Results are long-lasting but not immune to gravity, ageing, weight change or pregnancy, so a stable weight and good support help preserve them. No surgeon can guarantee a precise size or perfectly symmetrical outcome.

Safety & honest risks

As with any surgery, a mastopexy carries risks including bleeding, infection, delayed wound healing, and reactions to anaesthetic. Procedure-specific risks include visible or wide scars, changes in nipple or breast sensation (usually temporary but occasionally permanent), asymmetry, changes to the ability to breastfeed, and rarely partial loss of the nipple-areola tissue, more likely in smokers. Good clinics reduce these risks through careful patient selection, board-certified surgeons, accredited operating facilities, strict no-smoking advice, and structured follow-up. Unal only works with vetted hospitals that maintain these standards and provide clear aftercare if a concern arises.

Why Turkey, with Unal

Turkey is one of the world's leading destinations for cosmetic surgery, with high-volume accredited hospitals and board-certified plastic surgeons offering mastopexy from around £3,000 — often half or less of UK, US or Gulf prices — without compromising on standards. Unal Cakar is an independent health-tourism facilitator and patient advocate, not a clinic: he coordinates your care with vetted, accredited partner hospitals, arranges your consultation, stay and structured aftercare, and supports you in your own language throughout. You always pay the clinic directly for your treatment; Unal is sponsored by the partner hospitals, so his guidance stays focused on matching you to the right surgeon and a safe, transparent plan.

How I coordinate your breast lift (mastopexy)

I match you to a vetted, accredited surgeon who specialises in this procedure, agree an itemised all-inclusive price and written guarantees before you book, and stay reachable through your treatment and aftercare back home. You only ever pay the clinic — never me.

Frequently asked

Will a breast lift make my breasts bigger?

No. A lift on its own reshapes and raises the breast but does not add volume, and may even look slightly smaller because excess skin is removed. If you also want more fullness, an implant can be added; if you want less, a reduction can be combined in the same operation.

How much does a breast lift cost in Turkey?

Mastopexy in Turkey typically starts from around £3,000, depending on the technique, whether it is combined with an implant or reduction, and the hospital. This is usually a fraction of UK, US or Gulf pricing. You receive a transparent all-inclusive quote in advance and pay the clinic directly.

Will I have visible scars?

Yes, a lift always leaves scars, but their length depends on how much sagging is corrected — from a small circle around the areola to a vertical "lollipop" or an anchor pattern. Scars are permanent but mature and fade over 12 to 18 months and are usually positioned to stay hidden under a bra or bikini.

How long do I need to stay in Turkey?

Plan for about 5 days. This allows for your pre-operative assessment, surgery with usually one night in hospital, a post-operative check, and clearance to fly home safely with your aftercare instructions.

Can I still breastfeed after a breast lift?

Many women can, because the nipple usually stays connected to the underlying tissue, but breastfeeding cannot be guaranteed after any breast surgery. If you plan to have more children, it is generally advised to wait until after you have finished breastfeeding, as pregnancy can also stretch the skin and affect your result.

How long do the results last?

Results are long-lasting, but no lift stops ageing or gravity. Keeping a stable weight, wearing good support and avoiding future pregnancies all help preserve the shape. Some natural settling and gradual descent over the years is normal.

When can I return to exercise and work?

Most people return to desk-based work within 1 to 2 weeks. Light activity resumes gradually, but lifting, overhead stretching and strenuous exercise are avoided for several weeks, with full recovery around 6 weeks once your surgeon confirms you can resume all activities.
