Microneedling in Turkey
A minimally invasive skin-rejuvenation treatment that stimulates your own collagen to soften scars, pores and fine lines, with little downtime and an affordable per-session cost in Turkey.
Overview
Microneedling in Turkey is a quick, minimally invasive dermatology treatment in which fine needles create controlled micro-channels in the skin to trigger natural collagen and elastin production. It is suited to acne scarring, enlarged pores, fine lines, uneven texture and dull skin, and most patients need a course of 3-6 sessions rather than a single visit. As an independent facilitator, Unal Cakar arranges your consultation and sessions with vetted, accredited clinics and licensed practitioners; you pay the clinic directly, never Unal.
Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a non-surgical skin treatment that uses a sterile device fitted with very fine needles to make thousands of tiny, controlled punctures in the upper layers of the skin. These micro-injuries are too small to cause lasting damage but are enough to switch on the body's natural wound-healing response, which produces fresh collagen and elastin and gradually remodels the skin.
It is used to improve the appearance of acne and other shallow scars, enlarged pores, fine lines, stretch marks, sun damage and overall skin texture and firmness. Treatments may be performed with a motorised pen device or a roller, sometimes combined with topical serums, hyaluronic acid or platelet-rich plasma (PRP, the "vampire facial") to enhance results. It is not a substitute for surgery and works best on superficial concerns over a planned course.
How it’s done
On the day, the practitioner cleanses your skin and applies a topical numbing cream for around 20-30 minutes so the procedure stays comfortable. A motorised microneedling pen is then passed methodically over the treatment area; the needle depth is adjusted to your skin and concern, typically deeper over acne scars and shallower on delicate areas. The actual needling usually takes 15-30 minutes depending on the area treated.
After needling, a soothing serum, hyaluronic acid or, if agreed, PRP drawn from your own blood is applied so the active ingredients absorb through the fresh micro-channels. The skin looks pink to red, similar to mild sunburn, and feels warm and tight. A single visit is enough for one session, but lasting improvement comes from a series of sessions spaced about 4-6 weeks apart so collagen can rebuild between treatments.

Your journey, step by step
- 01
Online consultation and skin assessment
You share clear photos and your skin history. Unal arranges a review with the clinic's dermatologist or practitioner to confirm microneedling suits your concern and to flag anything that needs treating first, such as active acne or infection.
- 02
Personalised plan and quote
The clinic recommends needle depth, the number of sessions and any add-ons such as PRP or serums, with a clear per-session and full-course price. You receive a written plan before you travel.
- 03
Arrival and pre-treatment check
On the day, the practitioner examines your skin, confirms you have avoided retinoids, strong actives and sun exposure beforehand, and cleanses and numbs the area.
- 04
The microneedling session
The pen is passed over the area at a tailored depth, followed by a calming serum, hyaluronic acid or PRP. The session itself takes around 30-45 minutes including numbing.
- 05
Same-day aftercare briefing
You leave with clear instructions on cleansing, moisturising, sun protection and what to avoid. Mild redness settles within 1-3 days and you can usually travel home the next day.
- 06
Follow-up and repeat sessions
Unal helps you schedule the rest of your course at 4-6 week intervals, whether in Turkey or with a maintenance plan you can continue, and stays reachable for questions throughout.
Is it right for you?
Good candidates are generally healthy adults with shallow acne scars, enlarged pores, fine lines, dull or uneven skin, or early sun damage who have realistic expectations and understand a course of sessions is usually needed. Microneedling is not suitable during active acne breakouts, skin infections, cold sores or eczema in the treatment area, or for people with a history of keloid (raised) scarring, certain bleeding disorders, or those taking medication that impairs healing. It is generally avoided in pregnancy and for several months after isotretinoin (Roaccutane). Darker skin tones can be treated but need careful technique to reduce the small risk of pigment changes; a proper consultation is essential to confirm you are a suitable candidate.

Recovery & aftercare
Recovery from microneedling is short. Immediately afterwards the skin is pink to red and feels warm and tight, much like mild sunburn; this is the most noticeable on the first day and usually fades within 1-3 days. Some people see slight swelling, dryness or light flaking over the following days as the skin renews. You can travel home the next day and most people return to normal activities and light make-up after 24-48 hours.
Aftercare matters as much as the treatment. For the first day or two you should avoid make-up, vigorous exercise, saunas, swimming and direct sun, use only gentle cleansers and a recommended moisturiser, and apply broad-spectrum SPF 50 daily. Retinoids, acids and exfoliants are paused for about a week. Unal makes sure you leave with written instructions and remains contactable, and the clinic provides guidance between sessions.
Results to expect
Because microneedling works by stimulating your own collagen, results build gradually rather than appearing overnight. Many people notice fresher, smoother, more radiant skin within a couple of weeks of the first session, with firmer texture and improvement in scars and pores developing over the following months as new collagen matures. A typical course is 3-6 sessions spaced 4-6 weeks apart, and improvements can continue for several months after the final treatment. Results are real but gradual and vary from person to person; periodic maintenance sessions help preserve them. No ethical clinic can guarantee a specific outcome.
Safety & honest risks
Microneedling is generally safe in trained hands, but it is still a medical procedure with risks. Common, short-lived effects include redness, swelling, dryness, mild bruising and temporary sensitivity. Less commonly there can be pinpoint bleeding, breakouts, or in darker skin tones temporary changes in pigmentation. Rare but more serious risks include infection, scarring, cold-sore reactivation, or unwanted pigment change, usually linked to poor sterility, incorrect needle depth or inadequate aftercare. Good clinics reduce these risks with single-use sterile needle cartridges, a proper medical assessment, an experienced practitioner, appropriate depth settings and clear aftercare. Tell the clinic about any cold sores, keloid tendency, medications or skin conditions before treatment.
Why Turkey, with Unal
Turkey offers experienced dermatology clinics and high patient volumes at a fraction of UK or US prices, so a full microneedling course, often the costly part elsewhere, becomes far more affordable, frequently from around £100 per session. Unal Cakar works as an independent facilitator and patient advocate, not a clinic: he vets and partners only with accredited clinics and licensed practitioners, arranges your consultation, sessions, logistics and aftercare, and stays on hand throughout. Crucially, you pay the clinic directly for your treatment, never Unal, who is sponsored by the partner hospitals, so his guidance stays focused on what is right for you.
How I coordinate your microneedling
I match you to a vetted, accredited surgeon who specialises in this procedure, agree an itemised all-inclusive price and written guarantees before you book, and stay reachable through your treatment and aftercare back home. You only ever pay the clinic — never me.
Frequently asked
How much does microneedling cost in Turkey?
Microneedling in Turkey typically starts from around £100 per session, well below UK and European prices. The exact cost depends on the area treated, the number of sessions in your course and any add-ons such as PRP or specialist serums. You receive a clear written quote per session and for the full course before you travel, and you pay the clinic directly.
How many sessions of microneedling will I need?
Most people need a course of 3-6 sessions spaced about 4-6 weeks apart, rather than a single treatment. Concerns like acne scarring usually need more sessions than general skin freshening. Your clinic will recommend a realistic number after assessing your skin, and periodic maintenance sessions help preserve the results.
Is microneedling painful?
Most patients describe it as tolerable rather than painful. A topical numbing cream is applied for 20-30 minutes beforehand, so during treatment you usually feel a light scratching, prickling or vibrating sensation. Deeper work over scars can feel slightly stronger. Afterwards the skin feels warm and tight, similar to mild sunburn, for a day or two.
How long is the recovery and downtime?
Downtime is short. Expect redness, warmth and a tight feeling for about 1-3 days, sometimes with light dryness or flaking as the skin renews. Most people return to normal activities and light make-up within 24-48 hours. You can usually fly home the day after treatment.
Can microneedling remove acne scars completely?
Microneedling can noticeably soften and improve the appearance of shallow, rolling acne scars over a course of sessions, but it rarely removes deep or pitted scars completely. It works by stimulating new collagen, so results are gradual and vary between individuals. Your practitioner will give an honest assessment of what is realistically achievable for your scars; no ethical clinic guarantees complete removal.
Is microneedling safe for darker or sensitive skin?
Microneedling can be performed on darker and sensitive skin, and unlike some lasers it does not rely on heat that targets pigment. However, darker skin carries a small risk of temporary pigment change, so it requires an experienced practitioner, careful needle depth and diligent sun protection. A proper consultation and patch-appropriate planning are essential, which is why Unal works only with vetted, licensed clinics.
How long do I need to stay in Turkey for microneedling?
A single microneedling session needs only a day, and there is no overnight hospital stay. Many international patients combine a session with a short city break and fly home the next day. If you want several sessions of your course done in Turkey, Unal can help schedule a longer plan or arrange follow-up sessions across visits.
