Good candidates are adults in general good health with sparse, over-plucked or scarred brows, realistic expectations and a stable underlying condition, with a healthy scalp donor area to supply grafts. You are usually not a suitable candidate, or should wait, if you have an active or untreated cause of hair loss such as uncontrolled alopecia areata, active thyroid imbalance or trichotillomania (compulsive hair pulling), an active skin infection or inflammation in the brow area, a tendency to keloid scarring, or uncontrolled diabetes or bleeding disorders. Recovery is quick but visible at first. Tiny crusts or scabs form around each implanted hair and the brows look darker, slightly swollen and a little red for the first few days; most people feel comfortable in public after about 5-7 days once the crusting clears.
